OUR PROCESS
THE EARLIEST STAGE

When starting a project, it is ideal for us to be involved from the earliest stages possible to help influence the process and implement value engineering to increase savings and optimize the way pieces of the project come together. Being able to acquaint ourselves with the client, design team, architect and all other parties involved in the project early on allows for things to move more smoothly when we are in the thick of things. However it is also typical in the construction industry for early collaboration to not be possible and we are well equipped to handle jumping in and getting familiar with projects on the fly if necessary.

Once CBS has been selected for a project we begin our site evaluation, pull together all necessary construction documents and interior design specs then we are able to begin the estimate process.

SITE EVALUATION
OBJECTS WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM

The site that is being built on is crucial to the planning of construction and we pride ourselves in being very helpful in the planning of utilities where needed, as well as evaluating geo technical surveys to ensure that the soils and any unforeseen objects that are underground will not be a problem during the build.

We also take the time to meticulously plan how the site will be staged for construction, including where office trailers, dump trailers, parking, and any equipment will be placed on the site. Doing so allows for us to maintain an extraordinarily clean and organized site that improves efficiency, and makes for a more pleasant work environment.

ESTIMATES
HIGHLY TRANSPARENT

Our estimation process revolves around being highly transparent, with very in depth line iteming which enables our clients to be able to see precisely where they are spending their money. This allows clients to raise concerns, and in turn we are able to offer suggestions on how to curb costs related to those concerns. Once the estimate is completed we create a “Clarifications” document, which is a line item narrative, describing what is included, excluded or has an allowance for each item.

SCHEDULING
TRACKED ON BUILDERTREND

Once we are able to gain a solid understanding of the building, expectations for finishes and the full scope of the project we are able to develop a schedule. All scheduling is tracked on Buildertrend, a software that we use and share with the client, architect, and design team to allow them to keep track of progress, budget, documents and much more. Daily updates are made on Buildertrend that include photos of the site with narratives on what was completed on a given day. Change orders, milestones, selection due dates and schedule changes are all also viewable on Buildertrend, with alerts for each to maintain a fluid operation.
